The popular inchworm comes with a mirror, a soft teether, crinkly cheeks, eight feet, and a cuddly body! Babies can hug and babies can bite.

Objective: Hugging - building a sense of security

Method: The inchworm is made from high quality materials. It is soft and comfortable, great for hugging. Hugging also teaches children to care for others.

Objective: Listening training - reacting to sounds

Method: Use the rattles, squeakers and crinkle paper to make sounds to the right and left side of your child's head. Then observe if your child moves her head or gaze to follow the sounds. This trains her listening skills and attention.

Objective: Sense stimulation - touching and feeling different textures

Method: The inchworm is made from different materials. Encourage your child to touch and feel the different textures and to chew on the teether.

Objective: Fine motor skills training - grasping and pressing

Method: The inchworm is made of crinkle paper, rattles and other small parts. Encourage your child to grasp at and shake the different parts with both their right and left hands.

Objective: Gross motor skills training - shaking

Method: The inchworm is soft and great for children to hold and grasp. Encourage children to hold the inchworm with one or both hands. Then they can shake it to make different sounds.

Objective: Gross motor skills training - crawling towards sounds

Method: Shake the inchworm in front of your child and encourage her to crawl towards the rattle sounds.

Objective: Developing self awareness using a mirror

Method: Encourage your child to observe and recognize her own image in the mirror. This builds up her self image.

Objective: Cognitive training - learning insect body parts and facial features

Method: Use the inchworm to teach your child insect body parts and facial features.

Method: Say a body part or facial feature and encourage your child to point to it on the inchworm.

Objective: Cognitive training - learning colors

Method: Use the different colors of the inchworm to teach children to recognize colors.

Method: Say a color and encourage your child to point to it on the inchworm.

Objective: Numbers and counting - count 8 feet or 4 pairs of feet

Method: Together with your child, count the inchworm’s 8 feet. You may also count them as 4 pairs of feet.
